Religious Education
Religious Education (RE) is a core subject at Botwell House School. It is delivered mainly through the religious education programme ‘Come and See’, which is underpinned by the RECD, but is also encouraged through links with home, the Parish Church, the local community and other subject areas, especially PSHCE. We believe that all aspects of RE should be woven into the fabric of school life. We recognise that everyone at Botwell House School, staff, children and parents are on their own personal journey of faith.
RE at Botwell House School aims to nurture the Catholic Faith, and its teachings, in our children. By helping them to live our faith, we hope to encourage our children to develop a better relationship with God and others around them.
Religious Education is the systematic study of the teaching of the Church and the mystery of Christ and is a rigorous academic subject in its own right.
RE should promote children’s cultural, mental, emotional, spiritual and physical development and prepare them for the opportunities and responsibilities that are to come. This should be in the context of a moral and ethical Christian framework.
